ReverbMix and Match Spaces

Juic-C

A convolution reverb where every space is designed. Using the Pressed and Blended modes, you can pull it apart, keep its early reflections, borrow the decay of another space, and build rooms that never existed.

A closer look

Every screen, up close.

Juic-C — Fresh
Fresh

The designed space played straight — pure convolution over the 160 models, with Size, Pre-delay and the whole Nectar finishing chain live.

Three modes, one arc

From the space played whole to the space taken apart.

Sliding Fresh to Blended trades realism for range, and the face fills up as it does — each cluster of knobs waking as the mode deepens. The rooms are designed, and that is the reason they come apart.

Fresh

The designed space, played straight.

Pressed

Real early reflections, a synthetic tail, morphing between two rooms.

Blended

Every dimension from a different space, recombined.

Why we built this

Most convolution reverbs are museums.

Most convolution reverbs are museums: a fixed set of real rooms, recorded once and played back faithfully. Their value is fidelity — being true to a place that exists.

Juic-C is built the other way round. Its spaces are designed rather than captured — modeled from the acoustic behavior of real space types, but belonging to no real building. That sounds like a limitation. It is the whole point.

Because Juic-C owns the model underneath each space, not just a finished recording, it can do what a captured reverb cannot. Play a space straight and it is ordinary convolution. Keep its early reflections and grow a new tail behind them. Morph between two spaces and land somewhere between them. Or break a space into its parts — the shape of its early reflections, how fast each frequency decays, the color of its materials, the density of its wash — and recombine those parts into a room that has no name because it has never existed.

The modes run that arc, from the space played whole to the space fully decomposed. Convolution at the front, synthesis at the back, and the fact that none of these rooms are real is the reason you can take them apart.

What it is

Inside the box.

Designed, not captured

No field recordings, and no impulse responses of real buildings. Every space is built from an acoustic model — which is what lets you reach inside it. A recording is finished: you can play it, but you cannot reach in. A model has parts, and Juic-C works on the parts.

Play it, or take it apart

Play a space whole and it is ordinary convolution. Keep its early reflections and grow a new tail behind them. Morph between two spaces and land somewhere between them. Or break a space into its parts and recombine them into a room that has no name because it has never existed.

Convolution at the front, synthesis at the back

160 designed spaces across nine families, from a broom closet to a cathedral nave, finished through the cream Nectar chain — tilt, width, warmth and a relative de-esser — with a slide-in sidechain ducker that behaves just like Sweet-R’s.

Snapshots, across spaces

SNAPSHOTS captures the whole face under a name, up to six of them, and recalls one in a click. The space and the mode are parameters like any other, so a recall carries them too — a snapshot of a cathedral in Blended and a snapshot of a plate in Fresh are one click apart, impulse response and all. They save in the session rather than in your preset folder, so they reopen with the project, and a recall leaves your preset selection and its modified marker where they were. BYPASS is the parameter your host’s own bypass button drives.
