How many machines can I use it on?
Two, on one license, and you move them yourself from your account page. A desk and a laptop is the case this is sized for. If you genuinely run more machines, a teaching lab or a facility, write to us and say how many; that is a conversation, not a policy.
My browser or Mac warned me about the download — is something wrong?
No. Every installer is code-signed by Elefant Music LLC, the company behind Berry FX, so your computer can verify it is exactly as we built it. A freshly released version can show an extra notice before enough people have installed it to establish its reputation, and it clears on its own. The one thing to check is that the signer reads Elefant Music LLC; the Installing guide has the exact steps for Windows and macOS. A file signed by anyone else is the thing to be suspicious of.
I reformatted / replaced a motherboard and it stopped working.
The machine ID is derived from the hardware, so it changes on a motherboard or CPU swap, and sometimes on a clean OS install. Release the old seat on your account page and activate the new one. You never need us for this, at any hour.
My trial ended but I bought it. Why is it still silent?
Buying does not by itself unlock the copy on your machine; the plugin has to be handed a license for that specific machine. Go to your account, activate the machine, and paste the string it gives you into Settings → License. It takes about thirty seconds.
What happens to my plugins if Berry FX disappears?
They keep working. There is no subscription to lapse and nothing whose absence switches anything off. What you would lose is the ability to activate a new machine, which is the honest answer, and the reason activation is designed to be something you can do the day you buy rather than something you defer.
Is there an upgrade price from an earlier version?
Updates within a major version are free and always will be. If there is ever a paid version 2, everyone who bought version 1 gets a real discount, and it will be said plainly on this site well before it happens.
Can I use it on a commercial release?
Yes. There are no royalties, no registration and no restrictions on what you make with it. It is a tool you bought.
