Berry FX plugins install like any other plugin. Run the installer and it puts everything where your DAW looks — no folders to choose, and nothing to set up by hand.

Windows

Run the installer. It adds the plugin for your DAW, plus a standalone app you can open on its own. Windows asks you to allow the install — that is normal, and just needs a click.

macOS

Run the installer. It sets up the plugin and a standalone app, and works on both Intel and Apple silicon Macs — nothing to pick.

If you see a security warning

Every Berry FX installer is signed by Elefant Music LLC — the company that makes Berry FX — so your computer can confirm the file reached you exactly as we built it. Once in a while a brand-new version shows an extra notice before enough people have installed it for its reputation to be established. It clears on its own. Here is what each looks like, and how to check it is really ours.

Windows. If you see a blue “Windows protected your PC” box, click More info and check the publisher line reads Elefant Music LLC. If it does, the file is genuine — click Run anyway. If it reads anything else, stop and get in touch.

macOS. If your Mac says the app “cannot be opened” or is from an unidentified developer, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the Security section, and click Open Anyway next to the note about the installer. Confirm with your password or Touch ID.

The one thing worth checking every time is the signer: Elefant Music LLC. A notice on a correctly signed installer is routine — a file signed by someone else, or not signed at all, is the thing to be careful of.

Your DAW does not see it yet

A brand-new plugin does not always show up right away. Most DAWs only look for new ones when you tell them to.

Rescan your plugins. Look for a “rescan” or “refresh” button in your DAW’s plugin settings. In Reaper it is Preferences → Plug-ins → VST → Re-scan; in Ableton Live, Preferences → Plug-ins → Rescan.
In Logic, quit and reopen it. Logic looks for new plugins each time it starts, so a restart is usually all it takes.
Still nothing — or if your Mac says the plugin “cannot be opened” — get in touch and we will get you running.

Uninstalling

Uninstall it like any other app. Your presets and your license stay on your computer on purpose, so reinstalling later picks up right where you left off — nothing to set up again.
